On October 26 the open tournament “Kyiv Open Poomsae 2019” took place in Kyiv. Competitions were held in recognized poomsae and freestyle, for all age categories. The main aim of the tournament was viewing of candidates to the poomsae youth national team, and introduction of athletes rating definition system in the A class. Selection was carried out by coaches of the UTU poomsae national team who lead the appropriate age categories. They also were tournament referees. More than 50 athletes aged 7 to 14 years and 10 adult athletes, who are few in Ukraine, took place in the tournament.
         All participants showed a decent level. Especially good skills were shown by athletes of Vinnytsia and Odesa regions. Among children aged 7 to 9 years a few “stars” were selected. With the right training, they can reach international level soon. Therefore, in order to standardize the training process, the UTU will hold a free training camp for athletes and a free methodological seminar for coaches and referees of Ukraine, regardless of their affiliation, on November 16-17 (waiting for your applications for participation to e-mail utu_wt@ukr.net).
