On February 15-16, 2020, the Ukraine Taekwondo Union poomsae team took part in the annual tournament «German Open Poomsae 2020» that was held in Hamburg, Germany. On the first day, athletes over 18 years old and para-athletes competed. Each of the para-athletes won in his category. Two groups of five participated in freestyle competitions among adults: one of the cadets, second – cadets, juniors and coach of the UTU team Alexander Orlovskyi. Both groups of five won bronze.

Adult athletes from Denmark won silver, and the winners of this category were the hosts of the tournament – the German national team.

On the second day of the tournament youths, cadets and juniors competed in traditional poomsae and freestyle. There were no equal rivals for our youths in personal freestyle. Their two gold medals have replenished the list of awards of the UTU team. In addition, our youths also won three bronze medals. The cadets won two silver medals in traditional poomsae and 6 bronze medals in freestyle. Juniors have one bronze award.

Thus, the UTU team has counted five gold, three silver and twenty bronze awards of the tournament. Such a stable result allowed the team to take 4th place among clubs and 5th place among national teams!

We heartily congratulate the team, personal coaches and parents of athletes! We thank the President of the Ukraine Taekwondo Union for the sponsorship of our team trip and participation!
