On December 4, the decision of the Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv was published, which accepted the lawsuit of the Public Union “Ukraine Taekwondo Union” President Volodymyr Tsoi in the case of the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation, and the recovery of moral harm. The information disseminated on the official website of the Public Organization «Ukraine Taekwondo Federation» and in the internet edition «Vostochny Dozor» was recognized as unreliable and such that it violates personal moral rights.

 The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine on November 25, 2019 deprived the Public Organization «Ukraine Taekwondo Federation» of the status of a national federation. After that, the Organization President, Lesik Samandzhyia, launched an information attack against the Public Union “Ukraine Taekwondo Union” President Volodymyr Tsoi, the Union itself, and LLC «Ukraine Taekwondo Promotion».

So, on the official website of the Public Organization «Ukraine Taekwondo Federation» there was a message «Taekwondo in Ukraine under threat», and in the internet edition «Eastern Watch» – an article «Athletes report about pressure from officials and business structures». Both materials contained false information and humiliated the honor, dignity and business reputation of Volodymyr Tsoi, Public Union “Ukraine Taekwondo Union” and LLC «Ukraine Taekwondo Promotion». None of the statements used against the aforementioned parties were true or supported by evidence. In addition, inaccurate and derogatory materials were published freely available on the Internet, where they could be disseminated and quoted. 

By the decision of the Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv on November 18, 2020, the information disseminated to Vladimir Tsoi, to the Public Union » Ukraine Taekwondo Union» and to LLC “Ukraine Taekwondo Promotion” was found to be unreliable and such that it violates moral rights. The court ordered the Public Organization «Ukraine Taekwondo Federation» and the chief editor of the Internet edition «Vostochny Dozor» Rostyslav Kasianenko to refute the disseminated false information from the date the decision entered into force.
